Gateway Worship's 'Walls' Releases in October

Gateway Worship is releasing their highly anticipated album Walls, which is the sixth live recording from the internationally acclaimed group.

The record will launch October 2 from FairTrade Services, and is produced by Walker Beach, Josh Alltop and Miguel Noyola of Gateway Worship Production, the project-available in both CD and DVD formats- features 13 selections penned by such leading worship writers as Thomas Miller, Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes, Rita Springer and Mark Harris, among others.

Some of the main features of Walls include the album opener, "Higher Than The Sky" (feat. Matt Birkenfeld); the title track (feat. Carnes); "Let The Heavens Open" (feat. Jobe); "Wait For You" (feat. Rebecca Hart); "Love Has Found Us" (feat. Anna Byrd); and the project's debut single, "Grace That Won't Let Go" (feat. Harris).

"It seems like there are walls everywhere. They may not be walls you can see with your eyes, but they are there. Massive, insurmountable walls. Political walls. Racial and cultural walls. Denominational walls. Walls of pride, selfishness, and sin. Walls. But the truth is, we were never meant to live like this-with walls dividing us, separating us. God's heart is, and always has been, for us to be united as one," said Gateway Church associate senior pastor Thomas Miller.

Gateway Worship is a group of more than 40 worship leaders, musicians and songwriters at Dallas' Gateway Church, one of the largest and most influential congregations in North America. The ensemble, which ministers to over 35,000 attendees and thousands more online each week, is committed to leading the Church body in intimate worship with an understanding of the power of the Word of God expressed in music. Throughout the past decade numerous Gateway Worship songs have ranked among the most popular in the world, according to CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing International).

Walls, a FairTrade Services release, will be available for pre-order beginning Friday on iTunes and Amazon Music and includes a free instant download of the single "Grace That Won't Let Go." A new song download will be available each week with all pre-orders until the project's October 2 release.

5 Worship Leader Nightmares

5 Worship Leader Nightmares by Worship Set Ideas

The number one fear in the world is public speaking. But singing in front of people is even scarier than that. So it makes sense that worship leaders have real fears. And those fears frequently come true.
So in an attempt at a bit of catharsis, I thought it would be helpful to identify those fears, and maybe poke fun at them a bit. We’ve all had things like this happen to us. After they happen, move on. It’s not the end of the world.
Nightmare-1 We do our best to learn the words. We’re responsible enough to not rely on confidence monitors or lyric sheets. But sometimes the worst happens and we blank. It’s happened to the best of worship leaders.
Nightmare-2 This translates to digital pianos perfectly too. Ever started a song and realized your whole keyboard was transposed one half step up?
Nightmare-3 We’ve been waiting all week, maybe even all month, to introduce this one amazing song. The band knocks it out of the park. But all you get in return is blank stares or even your pastor saying something like, “Well that song didn’t work out so well.”
Nightmare-4 This is the single best moment in leading worship. The song builds to a crescendo, you back away from the mic, and the congregation explodes in singing. But what if they don’t sing?
Nightmare-5 Maybe this is my personal fear from having led church at a smaller church with horrible acoustics. One unauthorized tambourine in the hands of rhythmless charismatic can seriously kill your buzz.

Bonus nightmare…this:

Have you had any of these happen to you? What are your worst nightmares as a worship leader?
